SEAMEN'S DEPENDENTS.
SHEEPOWNERS' ACTION APPRECIATED. WELLINGTON, January 3. The following New Year greetings from the British seamen to the New Zealand sheepowncrs have been received : Rear-admiral Halsey, on behalf of the navy, sends hearty thanks to the sheepowners for their generous proposals. Mr Havelock Wilson telegraphs on behalf of the Seamen's Union Executive tenderjng his warm appreciation of the sheepowners' offer to help the dependents of seamen killed or wounded in defence of the Empire.
