For some time past the Customs authorities in Queensland have been aware that a system has been operating throughout the State amongst certain Chinese importers of tendering false invoices for Customs purposes, Which do not indicate the true value of the goods imported. Numerous prosecutions have been undertaken, and last week, in the Summons Court, Brisbane, 10 further charges were heard. The defendant was Lee Chow, trading as Lee Chow and Sons. Defendant was fined £lO on each charge, making £IOO in all, and £l2 12 s costs.
