The Press Bureau states that in view of the general shipping situation and the reatriation of various expeditionary forces and dependents, little or no shipping will be available for emigrant traffic before next autumn at the earliest. The New York Times Washington- correspondent says that the United States Shipping Board announces that 287 ships, totalling 1,800,000 tons deadweight, were completed and placed in service during the year ended August 1.
