PRESSING THE TURKS BACK. Mesopotamia official: We continued to pursue the Turks on both banks of the Tigris. We forced a passage oyer the lesser Zab, near the mouth, in conjunction with oavalry, which, after crossing further up the stream, turned the left flank of tha Turkish force holding the angla between the two rivers and assisted the main body to drive the enemy across the Tigris to tha west bank. The enemy retreated four miles further up the river. Our patrols entered the outskirts, tf Kerkuk. The Turks ara strongly holding the high ground northwards of the town. TURKS LEAVING TABRIZ. • Advices from tha American Minister in Teheran say that tha Turks ar© starting tha evacuation of Tabriz, in Persia.
