GERMAN REPORTS.
German reports continue to tell of how Franco-British attacks were repulsed '■ or collapsed, while here and there admitting that their own forces were withdrawn or rethed. Strong British attacks led by tanks, the German public arc- assured, collapsed. Heavy British attacks on each side of Bapaume failed. It is admitted that Anglo-British ' troops captured Cappyii Monchy Heights, Thittcy, St. Mard, Iresnoy, Martinpuieh, and that Noyon is now, in front of the German battle- front. t It is also admitted that the German lines were withdrawn between the Somme and the Oisc, giving up Chaulnes and Roye; also that the British are following up the German retirement from Kemmel, Brilleul. After fluctuating fighting, the .enemy captured Bullecourt, and Eooust. Eastward of Juvigny the enemy advanced as far as Ternysorny. The British pushed us back in places between the Scarp© and the Somme.
