OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS

The monthly meeting of committee was held on the 11th. Mr John Duthie (vicepresident) occupied the chair. The Rev. Alex. Whyte, of Port Chalmers, waited on the committee with reference to a booklet which he—under tho auspices of tho Port Chalmers Old .Identities' Association—proposes publishing, dealing with the early history of Port Chalmers and Dunedin, and asking for the association's support and sympathy. After favourable discussion, it was resolved to postpone the matter until the next monthly meeting. Mr Whyte was assured of the committee's support. The following gifts were received for the Museum:—From Mrs Stephens (Mount Ross) photo of herself (Philip Laing, 1848); Survey Office (Dunedin), plan of Dunedm by C. H.
