WATERSIDE ACCIDENTS.
WELLINGTON, May 3. The draft- of. the order of reference tor the commission to inquire into waterside accidents has tho following clauses:— 1. Are- the regulations and methods of inspection of all gear used for the loading and discharging of ships and hulks and for handling cargo on wharves sufficient to ensure that all gear is in good and safe working order? 2. If not, what provision should be made:' (a) In reepect of the main ports; (b) In zespecc of other ports? 5. What steps can be taken to prevent or minimise accidents to workers engaged m watersido occupations? Evidence will be taken only in the four main ports. The Minister of Marin© will be president, of the commission;
