THE QTAGO WITNESS. T HE OTAGO WITNESS
NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS AND THE PUBLIC. The groat increase in the cost of printing paper obliged New Zealand newspaper proprietors last year to increase the price of their daily papers in order to partially meet the heavy cost of production, but the proprietors of the large weekly newspapers decided at that time to continue the publication of their weeklies at the old price and bear the heavy increase in cost themselves. Printing paper has, however, now increased so enormously in cost that the proprietors of the leading weekly papers are obliged to increase the rates of subscription to their journals, and until normal conditions of trade come back the rates for the Otago Witness will be as follow, PAID IN ADVANCE t To addresses within New Zealand: * Per Quarter £0 8 6 Per Half-year 0 16 0 Per Annum ... ...v 1 10 0 Single Copies ... Eightpence. Great Britain and dependencies (per direct mail steamers only). Twelve months ••• ••• 112 6 All other countries outside New Zealand. Twelve months 2 4 0 The-new rates come into force on 3rd APRIL. All subscriptions which have been paid in advance before that date will be completed without any increased charge.
