OUTRAM.
March 20.—During tho past week the weather hn<a been very stormy and wet, and as the result tha Tni-?vi roso rapidly on Wednesday, and overflowed into Riverside, iwid fiooded tho Main road at the approach of the West Taieri bridge to tha depth of 3ft. The heavy gales, however, have dried np the country, und the river is hack again, to its usual. I understand that the County Council is contemplating raising- the
approach at the brid'ge 2ft or 3ft, which should be a great improvement. . Back from the War.—Privates David Ashley, Jaa Mann (Woodside), and E. Anderson arrived home during the week. All are making a good recovery. _ Dance.—On Thursday the Tennis Club held a dance in the Drill Hall, the proceeds of which were divided between the club and the Red Triangle, each of which will benefit to the extent of £o. .The Crops.—Harvesting operations are now almost over, the crops not being up to tire usual standard. The potato crop ia more, oi less affected with blight, causing muon anxiety to the farmers. ■ Dairying.-The Taieri and Peninsula Company have closed down their creamery heie, and farmers have been much inconvenienced, and would have had to install separators if it had not been for Mr L S Dyer, who collects the milk per motor for his condensing factory at Mosgiel. ;
