WELLINGTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) March 27] Tho withdrawal of Johnny Walker from the Great Autumn Handicap was caused by his showing signs of lameness after a gallop at Trentham on Saturday morning. Arlington was paid for in tho Brighton Hurdles at Auckland, but is not to make the trip to Ellerslie. His owner has dcoided to race him at Feilding. The Trentham contingent for Feilding will consist of Sardinia, Merrio Gain, Probation. Street Singer, Association (who is now out of the hack class), Thoughtful, Advaneefill, and Pervolo. Killard was a good deal fancied locally for the Great Autumn Handicap,/ and hie withdrawal came, as a surprise. Sweet Tipperary has been turned out for a spell. Her owners have placed in F. G. Garment's stable, at Levin, two yearling
fillies by Demosthenes, to be got ready for next season's racing. Devotion h.as been turned out at her owner's 6tation, at Rototawai, for a spell, anc! will not bo raced again until next season. It appears that Harold Yoimj? has been suspended in connection with some happening at the Tauraarunui meeting. This means that the well-known horseman will bo out of the saddle during the Easter meetings. Nearly all the hest horses in commission have been engaged at the Manawatu ing, which will be held a fortnight after Easter.
