The Coaldaie Coal Company has been. floated with a capital of £15,000 (says the Western Star). It has acquired mineral rights over portion of Mr James Ritchie a property at Nightcaps, and has already commenced operations. The company has an assured market in Canterbury for 60.000 tons of coal per annum. Throughout the New Zealand Division vt Franco a movement has been started called the "Brotherhood of Men of Goodwill' (says the Sydney Sun). Its chief work is to keep the minds of the men _ occupied in social, roligious. and other subjects. Should any members of the brotherhood be sent to hospital there is a visiting delegate to 6co them and cheer them up.
