LAND AND WATER.
In reply to an inquiry from tho North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, Mr W. C- Morrison, of Hanmer Springs, wrote stating that cleor were not very plentiful in tho district mentioned, and tho ground was difficult to get at, tind rough to work. Deer were, however, coniing over in larger numbers each year from the Nelson side, but tho heads were poor generally. The Alhambra A Grade team journeyed to Milton on Saturday and defeated the local team by 9 points to 3 after a very even and enjoyable game. The Milton team hospitably entertained tho visiting team.
