An indication of the very strong support given to the six o'clock closing movement by many in the business communit-v of Auckland is supplied by the action of Mr J. W. Court, of the firm of John Court (Ltd.), in handing his cheque for £IOOO to the Business Men's Committee whioh organised the agitation for shorter hotel hours.
