George Spencer, a carter in Wellington, on the 28th performed a very plucky action, which saved the life of a child. An alarm was given that Harry Smythe, the three-year-old son of the hulk-keeper on the Addcrly, had fallen into the harhour. Spencer ran about a chain and a-half and plunged Into tho water, fully clothed. He succeeded in rescuing the child, who, after receiving medical attention; appeared to. be all right.
