POST OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office as under:— SATURDAY, JUNE 2. For Lyttelton and Christchurch, per Monowai, at Noon. Late-fee letters 1 p.m. on steamer. KING'S BIRTHDAY. For the King's Birthday, Monday, June 4, will be observed as a holiday. All Post Offices will be open from 9 a.m. till 10 a.m. in all branches, except the Money Order and Savings Bank. Mai!? usually deepatched on Monday, June 4, will close at 6.30 a.m. on that date. A counter delivery of town letters will bo made at the Chief Post Office between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday,' June 2. A counter delivery will also be made on Monday, June 4, between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Mails for Wellington and North Island, 6.30 a.m. daily. Mails for Oamaru, Tiraaru, Christchurch, and Westport district, 6.30 a.m. daily. Mails for Oamaru, Timaru, and intermediate offices, 2 p.m. daily. Mails for Greymouth, Hokitika, and Reefton, 6.30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Mails for Invereargill and Intermediate offices. 7.30 a.m. daily. Mails for Milton, Lawrence, Balclutha, Clinton, and Invereargill, 3 p.m. daily. Mails for Middlemarch. Ranfurly, Clyde, and Cromwell districts, 6.30 a.m. daily. Mails for Middlemarch, Ranfurly, and The Reefs, 11.10 a.m. daily. Mails for South Sea Islands by next available steamer. Mails for United Kingdom, Expeditionary Forces abroad, America, and all oversea countries, including Australia, will bo despatched from time to time by the best route without special notification. Letters usually superscribed " via Suez" should now be ..superscribed " for first direct steamer." Correspondence for all neutral countries is subject to censorship. Money orders for places within the dominion close ono hour before advertised time of closing letter mails. Registered mails close one hour before advertised time of closing ordinary mails.
