RAILWAY DISASTERS.
(By Cable) Jassy (Rumanian) refugees report a railway accident, which is stated to bo the most terrible- in history. Tho casualties aro said to bo 374 killed and 756 injured. A great landslido buried a mail train between Trieste and Vienna. There is a heavy death roll. Some of tho carriages were buried in the River Sereth. A second train i 3 reported to have been wrecked. There was a collision between tho front and rear portions of a British troop train owing to tho couplings breaking. The carriages were crowded with men on furlough. Two cars were telescoped, and 10 men were killed and 40 injured. Search amongst tho dobrio continues. The train v.-.is topping a hill when the coupling broke. Tho momentum carried the second half of the train over a summit, and it gathered way and dashed into tho first half. Many of tho 50 coaches, of which ths train consisted, were smashed. Tho express from Broken Hill to Adelaide collided with a goods train at Stockport. Thirty-three persons were injured, mostly slight shocks and abrasions. There were throe serious cases. The damage done to rolling stock was —several carriages and trucks smashed.
