In the fetock market a good amount of activity continues in sheep, some substantial lines being included. Ewes with lambs have been sold at the following prices,- all counted ; four-tooth ewes, 24s 6d ; mixed six and eight-tooth, 235; full and failingmouthed, 245; failing-mouthed, 17s 6d to 22s 6d. Business in lambs for forward delivery is now almost closed owing to the exhaustion of opportunities, but some sales have been made of lambs at 17s 6d and 18s. Practically no store cattle or dairy cows are coming on tho market. The only transaction in cattle reported is a sale of 30 prime fat bullocks at £lB 10s. SOUTHLAND STOCK MARKET. (From Our Own Correspondent.) INVERCARGILL, November 11. In stock the volume of business passing continues on the small side, but prices all through and for all classes remain firm. Tho advance in the Government prices for sheep and cattle has heightened the market somewhat, especially in regard to fat and store sheep. Fat sheep have been selling during the week at record prices for this time of the year, while store sheep for forward delivery, both paddock and tussock, have seen keen inquiry at very full prices. Tho uncertainty whether the Imperial Government is taking over the wool is sure to have some effect on tho market, and if it should turn out that the clip is commandeered, it is expected to be at prices somewhat below those of last year, and this would naturally cause a slight decline in prices ruling tor store sheep. However, Canterbury is looking so well that there is sure to be a good inquiry from that province. Store cattle of all sorts are selling really well, especially young stuff, and it is very hard to even get enough under offer to meet the inquiry. Prices are as follow : Fat cattle—Ox beef, 44s to 455; heifer beef, 42s to 435; cow beef, 40s to 41s. Fat sheep —Extra heavy butchers' wethers, 38s to 40s; prime, 36s 6d to 38s; medium, 33s to 345; extra prime ewes. 31s to 355; prime, 30s to '33s; medium. 27s to 27s 6d. Store cattle— Three-year-old bullocks, good sorts, £l2 10= to £l3 ss; medium sorts. £lO 15s to £ll 10s; 2i-year-old, • £lO to £l2; two-year-old, £9 5s to £lO 15s; 18 months. £5 15s to £6 s=; yearlings, £4 10s to £4 15s; calves, £1 15s to £2 10s. Store sheep—ln the wool, two or four-tooth ewes with decent percentage, 39s to 40s; sound-mouthed ewes with good percentage, 36s to 37s 6d; sound and failingmouthed ewes, 29s to 30s; older sorts, 24s to 255; mixed sexes hoggets, good sorts, 28s to 29s 6d ; ewe hoggets, up to 345; wether hoggets. 28s to 28s 6d; two-tooth wethers. 30s to 325; four and six-tooth, 34s to 35s 6d.

REILLY, GILL, & CO.. Auctioneers and Commission Agents, Moray place, Dunedin. ci [Risrrcnu rcj i m a rk ets. (Peu United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 14. In the interval caused by the local iioli days there has been a further advance in wheat of Id to 2d per bushel. There is, however, scarcely anything offering by growers, and millers and. merchants are finding it a more difficult, matter to obtain wheat. With a reported surplus over the year's requirements and only eight and ahalf mouths of the wheat year gone there should s-till be plenty available, but no one seems to know where it is held. Not only is milling wheat scarce, but fowl wheat is unprocurable, and order- can only be filled with milling quality. There is a good demand for fowl wheat from tho North Island, and as with milling wheat prices have considerably advanced. There is a good demand for potatoes from Auckland, but supplies for shipping are now almost exhausted. The price inow £lO to £lO 10s at country stations. Seed as well as table potatoes aro being inquired for. SHEEPSKIN SALES. The Dunedin Wooibrokers' Association (Messrs Dalgoty and Co., A. Moritzson and Co., National Mortgage and Agency Company.
