Tho bowling season was opened in Dunadin on Saturday, when the Roslyn, Morn- | ington, and some other greens were formally opened with the usual ceremonies. At a meeting of the Dunedin Centre Mr ' O. R. Smith, a member of the council, who attended by request, referred to tho attempts to centralise- the control of howling in Wei- ! lington, and said this was a matter about which the council would have to keep watch. Mr Marlow, another member of the council, said an effort was to be made to raise £IOOO from bowlers, and each bowler would bo asked to subscribe Is for the purpose. The i Centre decided to hold a. pairs tournament on December 25 :u<<\ 26.
