NORTH TAIERI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
In connection with the forthcoming jubilee of tho North Taieri Church, a meeting was held recently, the Rev. J. Lymburn presiding. It was resolved to celebrate the jubilee of the congregation in October. For tho guidance of the meeting the chairman outlined a religious scheme and forward movement, to include a " Go-to-Church " campaign, constant attendance at the services, increased family worship, an increase of tho communion roll, and an increase of 50 per cent, in the membership of the various organisations of the church. After somo conversation on the subject, the meeting pledged itself to further the 'work of tho church on the lines indicated. It was further resolved that a jubilee fund of £2OO bo initiated for tho purpose of placing tho funds of tho church upon a, sound basis for a few years. From this fund £2O per annum, may be paid into tho ordinary funds if required, and £5 per annum handed over to the local branch of tho P.W.M.U. for allocation among the Assembly mission) schemes. In the event of tho ordinary revenue increasing sufficiently for the support of the church, part of the jubilee fund to be available for a new manse. Also, that a special effort be made to increase tho ordinary revenue by 50 per cent, in order to make tho church self-sustaining. A Jubilee Fund Committee was then elected, with power to add to their number. The matter of increasing the ordinary revenue was left in the hands of tho office-bearers. Mr 0. Findlay was appointed convenor, Mrs D. T. Shand secretary, and Mr A. Y. Smellic treasurer of tho jubilee celebrations. The chairman intimated that a member of tho church would give £lO to the jubilee fund, provided nino others gave a like amount.
