ramoi eaaanders I WORDS BY G. A. WYCHERLET. MUSIC BY G. B. LAIDLAvV. r¥IHIS NEW " SONG OF WELCOME" comes at a very opportune <ime, aid will appeal to thouJL sands of patriotic singers. The words tell of "laurels w. n," the " cheering voices of tie throng," and the heroes who have "added fame to Britain's name and h dghtcued the Empire's glory.'' _ The music is tuneful and pleasing ; the chorus, full of rousing vigour and dash, almost invit.s singers to "join in " ! This is a song that is sure to suit the popular ta^to. What the Evening Star says :—" It is a good song, suitable for a welcome social ayid worthy of a place on a concert programme. Mr G. A. Wycherley's verses, which are elating and yet free from offensive crowing or boastful metaphor, picture in "simp!e words a home-coming sc ne, and iho chorus brings in the individual welcome that makes it pers nal to ev-ry sin:cr. Mr G. B. Laidlaw, the composer of the music, has also done his work well. This song is one that arrests a'tention and securo* a hearing right through. 80l i and meaningful in its entire scope, it ha several most effectual passages that prick the senses and lift on j's feelings to a gladdening i eight. Mr Laidlaw has written a rich and tirm accompaniment. A further merit about ' When the Boy 3 Come Home ' is that it is easy to sing and to play." BEAUTIFUL PICTURE TITLE PAGE.
