At a recent meeting of the Southland Acclimatisation Society at Invercargill 't was reported that arrangements had been made to supply the Now Zealand Government Fisheries Department with 250,000 eyed ova at 5s per thousand. Delivery to various places is expected to commence the first, week in August. Shipment of 100,000 eyed ova to the State Fisheries Department (Sydney) would bo made from Lyttelton on July 26. Arrangements had been completed with the Canterbury Society for the exchange of 100,000 eyed ova. Bessie Grandemange created a world's record for 100 yards in the Ladies' Professional Championship at Sydney, covering the distance in 11 seconds. AMERICAN BOXERS IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, July 21. A further influx of American,boxers has resulted in an agitation to close the Stadium. A deputation, including Archbishop Wright, asked the Chief Secretary to-day to curtail the fixtures. Mr Black promised that the Cabinet woiikl take the matter jiito consideration.
