WELLINGTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) July 21. The A.J.C Derby candidate, Kilboy, was aboard tho Moeraki, which sailed for Sydney yesterday. Ho will join Murray Hobbs's team at Kandwick, and return for the New Zealand Cup meeting. The withdrawal of Bisognc from the "Winter Cup came as a surprise. He is only three years old, and has done a good deal of racing since Christmas. He has won about 900sovs in stakes, and his owner very wisely decided to rest him until next season. After an exhaustive inquiry the stewards decided not to take any action in connection with the running of Kooya on the first two days of the meeting. They expressed the opinion that the evidence was unsatisfactory. Kooya is in both the Winter Cup and Grand National Hurdles. It is stated that there is a likelihood of her starting in tho jumping-race. She has a good weight for a beginner. She ran third at Napier Parkon her only appearance in a jumping- race. Master Regal was shipped south at the beginning of the week. Tho horse's trainer and F. Flynn, who will ride him, also made the trip. At_ the conclusion of the Wellington meeting F. Flynn was leading A. J. M'Flynn by one for tho jockey championship over fences. Flynn intends to ride at South Canterbury this week, and M'Flynn is going south next week to ride at Amberley. Seadown got a few pounds more in tho Winter Cup than his connections expected. lie is going clown to run, and O'Shea's services have been secured to ride him. B. Deeley is very keen on winning tho Winter Cup for the third time to equal A. Oliver's record in the race. He rode Multifual here, and it has been given out that he will ride him at Riccarton. The Gisborne horse has the same weight he won the Farewell Handicap with last month, and is no doubt a good solid sort, like most of the Multifid tribe. Multifual has won about 1200sovs in stakes this season, and if anything happens that he should not start, Deeley will probably be on Gold Soult, who has a good chance with lOst. He was going well at Trcntham, but did not start either day. Hylatus has been pm-chased by D. Webster, the Otaki owner-trainer. The Wellington-owned Amity and Miraculous are now trained by F. Higgott. W. J. Bowdc-n was unable to keep them going, as he was without boys. Wirokino is to fulfil his Grand National engagement, and will be ridden.by A. J. M'Flynn, who handled him so well at Trentham. F. Higgott, who trains Wirokino, won hurdle races on that horse's clam. The totalisator turnover for the 24 races at ITrcntham averaged over_ £SOOO per race.
