Splendid rains have fallen during the past fortnight. Quite a magical change has come over the district, and winter crops are coming on splendidly. Not a sign of the recent drought is visible, and the prospects for tho coming seaso Ji arc bright. Heavy rain has been falling continuously since early this morning. July 1. Tlie rainfall for June in Oamaru was s. Sin, the highest on record for a month for the last eight years, but the rain was not equally distributed o'ver tho district, some places getting less than 4in, and others over 6in. The total rainfall for Juno was 230 points, which fell on 9 days, the maximum fall being 110 points, on the 20th. The maximum temperature in the screen was 63deg, on tho 11th, and the minimum 22dcg, on the 3rd. The minimum temperature on tho ground was 17deg, on tho 3rd.
