ALLEGED PECULATION.

PALMERSTON N., Juno 30. William Toswill, a Pahiatua solicitor, who has been residing in Palmerston North for the last fortnight, was arrested yesterday on two charges of alleged theft of trust money. lie appeared at the Police Court this morning. Detective Quirko said the charges against the accused were that about July 10. 1910, he stole £IBO, the property of Selina Boxall, and on July 10, 1913, he stole £6O, the property of Selina Boxall. Mr Quirko said a number of other serious charges would bo preferred against the accused. The police applied for a remand to Pahiatua. This was granted, and bail was allowed at £2OO.
