PAN-PAQIFIC EXPOSmON AT HONOLULU IN 1919. It is proposed to hold a Pan-Pacific Exposition in Honolulu in 1919. It is hoped that Honolulu will be made a free port, where the vast commerce of the Pacific may be housed and evchanged. From the support promised, the venture is likely to prove a great success. Tho Japanese have already secured a park of five acres from Queen Lilinokalani, which they have commenced, to beautify, fionie of the Chinese and Koreans are preparing to take similar steps. There are 20,000 Chinese in Hawaii. 10.000 Filipinos, 20,000 Portug-ueso (mostly from tho colony of Mocao). a colony of Russian Siberians, and men and women of many other nationalities. Western Australia will send a team of boomcriing throwers, and troups of natives from Fiji and Now Zenland, Jnvancse, Solomon Islanders, and Papuans. Tho New Hebrides and Red Indians are expected to take part. Honolulu ig at the cross-roads of the Pacific, and tho Fxpos'tion may become a gre*at rallying point of tho various residents in Pacific lands.
