In the opinio:: of Mr T. Ilorton, the fruit judge at the Palmcrston winter show, the collection of apples displayed this year is the test ever seen. Previously the apples shown appeared good to tho casual observer, but the trained eyo of the judge found blemishes in the fruit. This year's exhibits are remarkably free from blemish, both in export fruit, and apples for local consumption, and generally the quality is excellent.
