Captains All.
The captain of a boat is an absolute monarch, and the equal of every other boat captain, no matter how much bigger or bettor his boat. A writer tells of a brief but significant conversation which was hold across the water which separated an Atlantio !in-:r coining up Now York Bay and a gruny coal barge. “ Clear out of the way with that old mudscow !” shouted an officer on the bridge. A round, sunburned face appeared over tno cabin hatchway. “Are yo the captain of that vessel?” “ No,” answered the officer. “Then spake to ycr equals. I’m the captain of this!” came from the barge.
