The work entailed at the Hakataramca fish hatchory in connection with the fulfilment of orders for brown trout eggs is exemplified by the fact that the various acclimatisation societies have lodged orders to date for a total of 900,000 eggs. The work of collecting is proceeding at Temuka, whence the eggs are taken to Hakataramea until a certain stage of development is attained and the eggs are fit to bo packed and sent to their destinations. They are distributed all over the dominion, and one request has been received from Ballarat for a consignment of 150,000 brown trout eggs
