Since the fatal accident on the _ Main Trunk railway it has been the policy of the department to equip its sleeping-carfl with electric light, in place of gas, thus eliminating the danger of exnlosion or firo from this cause (says the Wellington Post). One car has been thus fitted for some time, and three more have just been turned oui of the Petone Workshops.
