OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the committee was held on the 13th inat. Mi; Donald Reid (president) occupied the chair. The following committees wore appointed for tho year:—Finance—Messrs Lenniston, Duthie, Nicolson, Hazlctt, Loudon, and Proudfoot; Hall—Messrs Duthie, Proudfoofc, and Nicolson; Museum —Messrs Ferens, Reid, jun., M'Dermid, Morcer, M'Kinnon, Dr Fulton, Mrs liny ward, and Mrs Barnes; Social —Mrs liayward, Mrs Barnes, Messrs M'Dermid. Nicolson, M'Kinnon, Mercer; Executive-Messrs D. Reid, Denniston, Nicolson, Proudioot. The following deaths were recorded for the .month:—J. Booth (79), Gabriel's Gully, 1801; Thos. Henry Bowie, early sixties; Mrs M'Glashan (nee Bell), arrived 1863; -Mr.-. 11. M'Kinlay, Lady Egidut, 1361; E. S. Allan (76), Cheviot, 1859; Oscar Davis (81), Wanderer, 1859; George (.Irani (65), arrived 1862; Mrs Ann Brown, Larkins, 18-19; J. Ferris (79), Gabriel's Gully; Joseph Lee (84), arrived 1860; Mrs Bethuno (81), arrived 1859; D. L. Christie (72), Stately, 1854. Tho following gifts to the museum were' received, for which votes of thanks were passed:—From Mr J. A. Duthie', photograph of tho late Mr Donald Petrie; from Mrs Turton oil painting of the late Judge Bathgate; from Mr G L. M. M'Dermid, moa bono; from another donor, piece of stone with imprint of child's foot, found at Mocraki.
