INFANTILE PARALYSIS
• WELLINGTON, Juno 2. Two more cases of infantile paralysis are reported in the Wellington Health district—one at Weraroa (near Levin), and the other at Masterton. Both patients are boys. CHRISTCHURCH. Juno 1. A case of infantile paralysis, a male aged 18 months, was reported from South Canterbury to-day. Another case of infantile paralysis is reported from South Canterbury, the patient being a woman aged 22 years. Two fresh cases of infantile paralysis were taken to the Masterton Hospital on Sunday afternoon. One of the patients is a baby six weeks old, and the other is a boy of nine years of ago. The former case is reported to be a serious one. It has been decided by the Masterton School Committee, after consultation with the medical authorities and the head master, that the school shall be kept closed this week. It appears that a child related to n family in which there was a case of infantile paralysis, and who has been attending the school, has contracted the disease, and was removed to tho hospital on Sunday morning. The school is being thoroughly fumigated this week. Another case of infantile paralysis, a boy of 10 years of age, whose parents reside in Columba road, was taken to tho Masterton Hospital on Monday afternoon. Another case of infantile paralysis has been reported from South Canterbury. The patient is a girl six years and six months old. Another case of infantile paralysis has been reported in tho Nelson district, that of a child four years of ago, resident in Motneka. A case of suspected infantile paralysis has boon admitted to the Napier Hospital from Taradale, and is now under tho closest observation. Two oases of infantile parlaysis were reported from Bailor County on the 30th ult.
