VETERINARY QUERIES.

[Answered by a duly qualified Veterinary Surgeon Queries must be received by SATURDAY nighto ensure reply in the succeeding issue.] Anxious.—Mare with a swollen leg: As far as I can learn from your communication, the cause of your mare's leg swelling is due to an unhealthy state of the blood. You might give a dose of physic, and follow it up with tonics, such as sulphate of iron or gentian, etc., and occasional doses of nitrate of potash. It would be much tho safer plan if you value the mare to consult a duly qualified veterinary surgeon, as such cases as you describe cannot be properly dealt with without a personal examination.
