THE DEELEY CASE. AUCKLAND, May 19. The stewards of the Auckland Racing Club, after hearing fresh evidence in the Thoolomo caso, confirmed its previous decision to suspend Deeley for three months, from May 1. D.J.C. COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the D.J.C. Committee was held on Thursday afternoon. Mr P- Miller occupied the chair. The Rivcrton Club wrote stating that nine bottles of samples from the horse Sombrero, which dropped dead at the start at its meeting, had been forwarded for analysis, as the' case was suspioious.—The Secretary reported that the samples had been sent to the Otago University for analysis, but a report had not yet been received. Messrs Kennedv Bros, wrote stating that they had entered Rio Grande in hunters' races but had since found out that he started at a hack meeting under the name of Land Ashore.—lt was resolved to replythat the entry was informal. The following were appointed a Judicial Committee for the winter meeting : —Messrs Hanlon, Mvers, Lough, Miller, Christie. Mr Coughlan was granted leave of absence. DUNEDIN DISTRICT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the distriot was held on Thursday night. Mr P. Miller occupied the chair. The Southland Racing Club forwarded the evidence and result of inquiry into the riding of Redshiro by R. Berry in the Presidents Welter Handicap at its meeting

of April 15, the decision being that Berry bo disqualified for two years for obviously pulling Redshire —lt was unanimously resolved that the disqualification be removed. It was further resolved that a copy of the evidence submitted by Berry bo forwarded to the Southland Racing Club. The Riverton Racing Club notified that J. Beale had been fined £5 for breaking his engagement to ride, but. it had since transpired that Beale had notified the owner by wire that he could not fulfil his engagement, and the owner recommended that the fine bo remitted.—The fine, was remitted The Gore Racing Club forwarded correspondence with regard to applications from J. R. Kain and T. Reid for remission of balance of their disqualifications, which wore imposed in October, 1914, and asked the committee to deal with the matter. — The balance of the disqualifications was removed. . , The Secretary of the Racing Conference notified that W. Robinson had withdrawn his appeal against the decision of the District Committee. —Received. The dates submitted for race meetings for season 1916-17 for the Otago district were approved, and ordered to bo forwarded to conference. - The Beaumont Jockey Club notified that W. Robb had been disqualified for two years for bumping Charlette and _ running her over the side of the course at its meeting on Easter Monday.—The disqualification was endorsed. The fines imposed on jockeys by the starters at Tuapoka, Riverton, Gore, and Beaumont meetings wore approved. The Tuapoka Jockey Club wrote in regard to the manner in which its handioapper, Mr A. Jones, had treated the club, as a result of which it had to call in outside assistance —lt was resolved to reply that the committee had no power in the matter. It was resolved to give notice of motion for the next Racing Conference to alter rule 1, part 19, so as to alter the minimum weight in handicaps from 6.7 to 7.0. OTAGO HUNT. The weekly meet of the Ofago Hunt was held on Saturday afternoon. The country at Woodcaton is an ideal place for a drag hunt, the live hedges and post-anti-rail fences being pleasant to negotiate. There were more straight goers and horses qualifying for the steeplechase than there have been before, and the pace was made very fast. There were one or two mishaps, but nothing serious. The properties which were hunted over were those of Messrs Maxwell, M'Laren, M'Millan, and Hamilton. Prominent amongst those who were successful in following were: —Mr Jordan (Master) on Uncle Sam), Mr Mowat (Deputy Master) on Seaview, The Huntsman on Blue Stripe, The Whip on Mac, Mr Edgar on Ngatiri, Mr MTntosh on Cappol Moh, Mr M'Kay on Dear Annie, Mr North on Kiwi, Mr Swallow on Gipsy Queen. Mr Cassell on Roval Star, Mr Griffith on Wellwood, Mr Eady on St. Paul, Mr M'Kay on a black cob, Mr Fenwick on Ranter, Master Swallow on Tim, Mrs Conn on a bay, and Mr M'Kie on Silver Dirk.
