Tho Oamaru Mail reports that a petition is being circulated and subscribed to by those who desire to have a liquor license reinstated at tho hotel at Ngapara, and it is understood that an application with this object in view will bo made at the annual licensing meeting next month. There is considerable opposition to the project, and the party behind it is actively canvassing to defeat tho suggested innovation. —lf salt is used for sweeping carpets, it will keep out moths.
