TO THE AERIAL BRIGADE.
In the trenches, on firm ground, Intrepid fights were fought} Valiant deeds that victory crowned By dauntless men were wrought. On the high seas' tossing waves Splendid vigil ceaseless waits, In the misty grey that laves All the hidden traps of Pate. All honour to our noble sons "Who fight and watch on land and sea, Who storm the trench, defy the guns, And hold the trade routes danger-free. Yet, if they're braver than the brave, The braver are the wondroua Few Who trust to neither land nor wave, But launch them forth upon the new— The. element they cannot see, The intangible - they cannot hold, Who fling themselves on the "Mavbe," And venture on the "Never-told.' The pioneers in trackless air— Adventurers, who soar away, Bold theorists, of daring rare, — Impelled by canny aerial fay. TJnconq\ierable souls have they; There's nought above, beneath, around, In earth, or sea, or sky, they say, But what has man its master crowned. Their deed is Faith, their Faith is deed, It mountains plucks by root, or flings; They know not death; life is their creed, And by this creed they've found thenwin gs. —E. M. Stoky.
