CRICKET.
There was very small scoring on one side in two of the senior championship matches at Wellington on Saturday last, Trentham disposed of the University team for 39, Sandman taking four wickets for 15 and Hickmott five for 13. and then put together 206 for nine wickets, Hiekmott compiling 78. E. A. Smith 55. and J. M. Smith (late of Can'shroolc) 25. scored 164 (Rodgers 34, Brice 34) against Wellington North, and then dismissed the latter team for 37 (TTiddlcstono 20) and 31 for four wickets. Hiddlestone. for Wellington North, took six wickets for 37. and Brice and Smyrk. for Petone, respectively secured seven for 17 and three for 20. Wellington Central made 243 (Burton 46. ITickson 35. Dind 30. Blaekmore not out 25. Wilson 24. Demuth 23) against Wellington East, and the latter lost two wickets for 25. Old Boys and jHutt were well imatched on the first innings, the former making 148 (Thomas 34. Ronaldscn 29, Beechy 23) and the latter 104. The senior final round of the grade matches in Christehurch was commenced on Saturday last. Linwood. playing against West Christehurch, batted first and made 178 (A. W. Thomas 54, A. E. Doell 38. R. Read 20), while West Christehurch lost seven wickets for 84 (H. B. Lnsk 43). Sydenham, playing against Riccarton. made 187 (W. R. Patrick 66, A. Norman 20, J. Gray 27. J. Martin 31 not out). Riccarton scored 57 for three wickets (E. R. Caygill 21). St. Albans, in their match with East Christehurch. were dismissed for 124 (T. W. Reese 55, S. Johns_ 29. A. E. M'Nao 25 not out). East Christehurch had compiled 159 for six wickets (E. Willstead 34, E. Brosnahan 37, A. R. Blank 24 not out). FIRST GRADE. Dunedin v. ALUtor. This match was played on the North Ground on Saturday afternoon in fine weather. The play was interesting throughout. Dunedin won at the finish by 83 runs. Grange met St. Kilda on the North Ground St. Kilda, with the assistance of three Grange players, made 200 (Forrester 66, Keast 53, Muir 40, Lodgerwood 17). Grange responded with 134 for five wickets (Beeby 51 not out, Wright 33 ; Resticaux IS, Jones 14, Bennett 10 not out). THE LEAGUE GAME. Railways, with five wickets for 58 runs (Owen 27, Swinney 25) defeated Y.M.0.A., who scored 57 (M'Ncill 19, F. Thomson 11). Finlayson (six wickets for 18 runs) and Murray, Sutherland, and Owen (one wicket each) were Railways best bowlers, and Lethaby and Ahlfcld bowled well for Y.M.C.A. Shaddocks, who scored 87 (Rice 28, M'Kinley 17) defeated Standard with 52 (Lax 13, Amuri 11). Burt (four for 8), Hodge (three for 5), Holden (two), and Wills (one) bowled best for Shaddocks, anq Lux (seven for 24) and Stubbcs (one for 6( for Standard.
