LONDON, October 1. Mr Asquith, questioned regarding the resolution adopted by a section of the Labour Party in threatening a general strike in the event of national service being adopted, replied that he did not anticipate the contingency being likely to arise. The Press Bureau has issued a statement at the Trades Union Congress repudiating the report that Mr Asquith .and Lord Kitchener had expressed divergent views regarding conscrijhion.
