MOSGIEL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

The annual report, to be presented to the meeting to be hold next week, contains the following; Many of our young men are now serving with the colours, and others arc about to° join. Their departure has caused changes among our workers; but, with the exception of the Men’s Association, none of our organisations has been constrained to cease or even to modify its work. A roll of honour has been compiled, comprising the names of members and adherents of the congregation, old Bible Class and Sabbath school boys, and the sons of members. The session reports that additions to the membership of the church number 10, while disjunction certificates have been granted to seven members, and two have been removed by death. The membership of the congregation now stands at 248. During the year the session received with extreme regret the resignation of Mr George A. Keys of his office as member of the Management Committee, and that of Mr James R. Prentice of his office as choirmaster. Difficulty was experienced in securing a suitable applicant for the post of choirmaster, but wo wore fortunate in being able to make a temporary arrangement with Mr W. M. Bain and Miss Joan Sim. On the outbreak of war it was doomed advisable to postpone the painting of the old church building; but it will be necessary to_ have this work done noon. Tho finances give great ground for thankfulness. In a year when demands upon the resources of t he people have been so many, wo are still able to show a small credit balance. The following are tho statistics of the young people’ work:

Y.W.B.C. (senior), 23; Y.W.B.C. (junior, 30; Y.W.B.C. (junior. No. 2), 15; Y.M.B.C. (senior), 15; Y.M.B.C. (junior), 14; Sabbath school, including infant department, 140. In December £4O was forwarded by the P.W.M.U. to the various mission funds of our Church.
