MAIL TRAIN PARTLY WRECKED

LONDON, August 14. The second portion of the Irish mail train from Euston was wrecked between Blisworth and Weedon. The connecting rod of an engine on an adjoining set of rails broke, and the Irish mail train’s engine fouled the broken rod. Five carriages were derailed and overturned. Eight persons were killed and 30 injured. Mr Arthur Lynch, M.P., and Lord Mounteagle were injured in the railway smash. Four of the sorters in the, mailvan were killed.
