H No. s—Harbour5 —Harbour Queen (Miss Mill), green and gold 12 The past week was one of great activity in Queen Carnival circles, all the committees seeming to make a general move at the same time. The principal feature was the monster procession arranged by the Retailers through the principal street# last Saturday. The ingenuity of the organisers is being strained to breaking point to devise novelties, but last week the gamut of entertainment was run from grand opera recitals to Punch and Judy shows. The Scotch concert in His Majesty’s on Monday night was one of the big successes of the week —so much so that it had to bo repeated on Tuesday. The breaeh-of-promise trial “Bardeil v. Pickwick’ in the Law Courts and the fete in the Triangle were also features of an exciting week. This week the outstanding attraction is the Cafo Chantant at the Brydone Hall. The Queen Carnival has created a boom in royalty. Kings and queens are at a premium, but lesser lights are at a discountj dukes, for instance,, are two a-penny in ai<f of the wounded soldiers.
