Clark and Son 0 15 0 Total £22,114 14 9 As the result of an entertainment in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund in the Hawea Hall on June 25, the sum of £l2O was realised. Generous assistance was given t>y residents of outside districts, and at the final meeting of the committee such assistance was gratefully acknowledged by all present. As a mark of appreciation of the manner in which the duties of the position had been carried out, a fountain pen was presented to the hon. secretary (Mr D. Hartstonge). A SPLENDID CONTRIBUTION. Mr G. L. Denniston (Consul for Belgium) was gratified in finding among his correspondence on the 13th a letter from Mr C. W. Kent, hon. secretary of the North Otago Patriotic Fund, covering a cheque for the handsome sum of £5516 12s lid in aid of distressed Belgians. The people of North Otago have, in contributing to tin’s fund, displayed a most generous spirit which cannot be too highly commended.
