WELLINGTON. At the quarterly meeting of the Railway Superannuation Fund Board retiring allowances aggregating £1403 were granted to 20 officers, allowances amounting to £375 were granted to 10 widows and 15 children, and refunds amounting to £2951 were granted to officers who have resigned. A judgment of considerable interest to architects was given on the 16th by Mr Justice Chapman. Arthur Henry - Lepper, of Nelson, who since 1877 has done extensive architectural work and has erected numerous buildings, applied for registration _ as aiT architect. The Institute of Architects refused the application, and he then appealed to the' Supreme Court, which has decided that he is entitled to registration. The Judge, however, did not allow him costs. A private message from Melbourne states that the steamer A waroa was run down and sunk in the River Yarra. She was formerly engaged in the Hclensvillc-Dargavillo trade and in the harbour service at Wellington. WEST COAST. The weekly output of coal at Greymouth is as’ follows:—Paparoa, 74 tons 4cwt; North Brunner, 589 tons lOcwt; Point Elizabeth, 2437 tons; Liverpool, 2287 tons lewt; Blackball, 5209 tons scwt; — total, 10,507 tons.
