New Zealand Roll of Honour: Our Wounded at the Dardanelles.
The past few months have witnessed a great spurt in recruiting in the provinces of England, the right class of men placing themselves at the disposal of the authorities. The photograph, taken at Swansea, shows the interior of a recruiting office, with men waiting to- sign on.

Ncuve Chapelle has proved beyond doubt that given a plentiful supply of big guns and ammunition, the Allies can, when everything is ready, carry the war to a successful issue. Labour is answering the call, and th- Arm'- training the men with a will into the use of the guns. All that is required is more man, and full work by those at home.
During the German advance on Paris, they shelled a monastery, in which the member of the order, seen in the picture, had his arm blown off by a shell. The monks suffered many indignities and privations, but many of them escaped, and are now offering their services to their country as tillers of the ground.
A correspondent lias forwarded the above photograph showing thehue Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone wi.h his grandson on his knee. The latter grew up, entered Parliament, went to the front in France, and was killed in action. A recent cable notified that the body had, been brought to England and interred at Hawarden.
