LONDON, June 14. The Institute of Industry and Science has arranged, under the auspices of the dominions and the colonial Governments, a great exhibition of the natural resources of the Empire. A special building is being erected on the Aldwych site, and will be opened in January. The underwriters receive 62 per cent, of the New South Wales loan. June 19. Five thousand pounds’ worth of pictures by Sir T. Lawrence, Hede, Watteau, Gainsborough, Hoppner, and Geddes hawe been stolen from the Marlborough Gallery at St. James’s, belonging to a French dealer now at the front. The detectives have no clue to the crime. The production of Scotch malt whisky has decreased by 1,000,000 gallons for the season. MADRID, June 19. Heraldo Raisuli obtained from General Marina a safe conduct through the Spanish zone. He was riding to Arzili with 100 notables, when the Spanish troops fired on them, killing 10, whereupon Raisuli fled. Several subalterns have been court-mar-tialled. LISBON, June 18. The Cabinet has resigned, and the Premier has been asked to form another Cabinet. WASHINGTON, June 19. The Mexican leaders refuse to confer with the object of restoring peace. Villa threatens force if the United States intervenes.
