OWAKA FIELD COMPETITION.

The Owaka A. and P. Society’s field competitions were judged by Mr P. Boyd, of Lovell’s Flat, who was favourably impressed with tho splendid crops. Mr Boyd remarked that Mr R. nonton’s crop of swedes was the best lie had seen this season, and was fit to compete with any in Otago. The following are the results;— No. I.—Best crop of not less than 2? acrea of swede turnips (any variety), to be grown in Owaka Show district. Two entries—R. Renton (Owaka), 88 points, 1; T. Barr (Owaka), 82 points, 2. No. 2.—Beat crop of not less than 2j acres of yellow fleshed turnips (any variety), to be grown in Owaka Show district. Four entries—J. Oaley (Purekireki), 84 points, 1; R. Barr (Owaka), 82 points, 2.
