SEVEN YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. INVERCARGILL, Juno 3. I Louis Fosbender, a farmer, who was con- : vicfced of manslaughter in connection with ' . the death of William Jackson, was to-day sentenced to ee-ven years’ hard labour. ( Mr Justice Sim remarked that the crime was punishable by imprisonment for life, and there wore no extenuating circumstances.
Counsel stated that the prisoner had paid £IOOO compensation and £75 costs to Jack son’s widow.
