TRIPLE TRAGEDY IN VICTORIA

MELBOURNE, May 19. A mysterious triple tragedy has occurred near Geelong. The house of Thomas Morrison, who was absent in hospital, was discovered to be afire. The doors were fastened, and Morrison’s son, aged 12, was found dead sitting on a chair in the kitchen with a gunshot wound in his head. The charred corpses of Mrs Morrison and her brother —Daniel M'lntosh—were found in azi adjoining bedroom, where there was a gun on the floor. No clue or attributable cause has been discovered. May 21. At the inquest on the death of Mrs Morrison, her son, and her brother, the verdict was that Mrs Morrison and her son were wilfully murdered, by Daniel MTutosh while in a demented state, and that- he set fire to the house and then committed suicide.
