WINTER SHOW
TO BE OPENED NEXT WEEK. Active preparations arc being made for the forthcoming Winter Show ot the Otago i A. and P. Society, which will bo opened j on Tuesday, "Juno 1, by the lion. W. 1 Fraser. A large number of late entries 1 from a distance, received during the week, I bring tho total close up to record number 1 established last year. Every effort is being made by the committee to enlist support for the Wounded Soldiers’ and Belgian Re- ! lief Funds, and very generous offers of I valuable produce and giits arc daily being | received at tho society’s office. In this I connection Mr J. O. of this city, I has presented a very fine gig to be disposed of on behalf of the patriotic funds. The applications for floor space are numerous, and those desirous of obtaining stands in tho show buildings during the five days of the exhibition, should not delay in making application. As it is anticipated that there will bo a large influx of visitors to Dunedin for show week, those who have rooms and accommodation available should send in particulars to the society’s office without delay, cts it is intended to rmblish during the coming week a list of places where visitors from tho countiy may find suitable accommodation. The executive of tho Dunedin Women’s Patriotic Committee is leaving no stone unturned to carry out tho special duties allotted to it In tne show in the most the rough and capable manner. All things considered, the t forthcoming Winter Show promises to be an unqualified success.
