JAPAN AND CHINA
AGREEMENT ARRIVED AT,
LONDON, May 10
In the House of Commons, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs (the Hon. Neil Primrose), in reply to a question, confirmed the statement that an agreement between China and Japan had been come to. He added that the question of railway concessions in Southern China was reserved for future negotiations. May 11. Sir Edward Grey, in reply to a question in Parliament, said there* was no understanding between Britain and Jajian regarding spheres of influence as concerned minerals and railways in China. TOKIO, May 23. Press correspondents at Peking declare that the United States has -warned China not to sign a treaty with Japan lest it interfere with American rights.
