NEW YORK, May 21. In the Barnes-Roosevelt libel action the jury returned a verdict in favour of Mr Roosevelt, provided the costs were equally divided. As the court was unable to agiee to that proviso, the jury again retired to reconsider their verdict. May 23. The jury found that Mr Roosevelt did not libel Mr Barnes, and gave him the verdict. Mr Barnes gave notice of appeal. TORONTO, May 13. The search for the Arctic explorer Stefanssen has proved fruitless.
